Mangaluru, Jul 25: The National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) peer team had a visit of two days to Besant Evening College recently for assessment and to award the Academic Grade to the College. The team was headed by the vice chancellor of Dr B R Ambedkar Open University, professor Seetarama Rao Kusumba as the chairman. Manipur Central University Commerce dean, professor Rajamani Singha as the member co-ordinator and Dr Reena College of Arts, Science, Commerce and Management, Tane as the member in the team.
The team has evaluated all the academic and administrative aspects of the college. The NAAC team also interacted with the Management members, Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) members, all heads of the departments, alumni members, Parent-Teachers Association members and present students. The team also visited the College Library, Sports Department, NSS and canteen and made an observation on various facilities services provided to the students. The team also visited the adopted villages; Pavoor and Pajeer near Mudipu and interacted with the beneficiaries.
During the NAAC Peer Team visit all the members of the management, IQAC, Parents- Teachers Association, Alumni Association, Students Union Council, Faculty members were present.
The principal of the College, Dr Lakshminarayana Bhat gave the presentation about the college at a macro level. The IQAC co-ordinator, Dr Vasappa Gowda presented about the contributions of the college for quality excellence. All the department heads gave the presentation about their teaching-learning and evaluation system, research and curricular and co-curricular activities of the college.
After evaluating the various facilities and services, the NAAC peer team has appreciated the college management for its contributions towards Educational Quality Excellence and congratulated the principal, IQAC, PTA and Alumni for their involvement in the college activities.
The IQAC co-ordinator, Dr Vasappa Gowda co-ordinated the two days visit of the NAAC peer team for assessment.
