Cowell Pushed Me for 'The X Factor': Cole

London, May 30 (IANS) Singer Cheryl Cole never wanted to appear on the US version of "The X Factor" but producer Simon Cowell pushed her in doing the show. Cole was later replaced by Singer Nicole Scherzinger for the singing reality show.

"I never actually wanted to do the American show, I'm not a TV star. I had so many reservations, but he pushed me into doing it. He told me I'd be a star over there. And then he didn't give me a chance to prove myself. I was gone after four days. I have no idea what I'm going to do now. My life has been turned upside down. They have treated me really badly," contactmusic.com quoted Cole as saying.

Cowell, took the 27-year-old singer along for the US edition of the show, but she was left "shocked and stunned" when television network 'Fox' replaced her with Singer Nicole Scherzinger, just after four days.

However Cowell is reportedly feeling "guilty" over what has happened, but insisted his "hands were tied" by executives at Fox.

Cole, who is currently in London with her mother, is refusing to take calls of the TV moghul and has told friends that she may even take a break from all TV work.

"A big part of me wants to disappear. I Love my family and friends. I'll be ok without working for a while. 'X Factor' isn't my world. It's not the be-all and end-all of my career."
