My Parents were Sceptical About My Acting: Lawrence

London, May 31 (IANS): American actress Jennifer Lawrence says her parents were not so sure about her acting career, so they wanted her to complete her education before becoming an actress.

The 20-year-old will be seen in director Matthew Vaughn's "X-Men: First Class" as Mystique.

"Of course they were sceptical as anyone would be if their 14-year-old said, 'I think I'm going to move to New York and be an actress'," contactmusic.com quoted Lawrence as saying.

"They made sure that I got my education because they were basically preparing for me to fail. They were waiting for me to fail so that we could go home and get back to normal. And now I'm here. Now they think it's great, they're having a blast," she added.
