Indore: Poor Turnout? - Sonu Nigam's Concert Cancelled

Indore, Jun 8 (DB): Thousands of hearts broke in Indore when singer Sonu Nigam’s concert was cancelled on Tuesday. The concert was to be held to celebrate completion of 20 years by Sonu Nigam in the Indian film industry.

The reason behind the cancellation of the concert is yet not clear.

There are rumours that Sonu Nigam refused to do the show because poor turnout. The organisers had claimed that 5000 people will turn up for the concert. Passes were issued to several corporate companies and promotions were also carried on a big scale. However, the concert was far from house full and many tickets were left unsold.

Ticket prices were also brought down hours before the show was to start; yet there were not many takers. A heavy downfall ruined the day for the organisers further as merely 500 people turned up at Labh Ganga Garden for the live concert of one of biggest singers in India.

Sources say that a miffed Sonu Nigam refused to perform in front of the small crowd and cancelled the show.

The singer was to be felicitated during the programme.

The organisers later said that the concert was cancelled because of the rain.

Sources also say that an income tax raid in the offices of Dreams Entertainment, which was organising the concert, could have been the primary reason. An I-T team reached their office and asked for some documents. A hour later, the I-T team left.
