Bantwal, Feb 24: The state government employees will hold indefinite protests from March 1, announced Umanath Rai Meravu, taluk president of the Government Employees' Union.

In a press conference held on Friday, February 24 at the Bantwal Press Club, he stated that all government employees support this move.

Meravu pointed out that the government has not revised salaries and allowances, and has not implemented the old pension scheme, despite making promises to do so. He added that the absence of any mention of these issues in the budget has disappointed the workers and left them with no other option but to protest.

The press conference was attended by secretary Santhosh Kotian, treasurer Basayya Alimatti, state parishad member J Janardhan, Primary School Teachers Association district president Shivaprasad Shetty, Joel Lobo, Yathish B, Rathnavati, Indushekar, Puttaranganatha, Basavaraja, Mustafa and others.
