Mangaluru: Sexual harassment of minor – Accused sentenced to 10 years in prison

Mangaluru, Feb 25: Additional district and sessions court FTSC-1 (POCSO) sentenced the accused, who had sexually harassed a minor girl four years ago, to 10 years in prison and slapped a fine of Rs 10000.

Sathish Poojary (35), resident of Pulleri of Uli village in Bantwal taluk, is the accused who was convicted by the court.

A case was registered in Punjalakate police station against the accused accusing him of having physical union with a minor girl against her will on February 11, 2019.

ASP Saidul Adavat, the then ASP of the taluk had conducted the investigation and filed chargesheet against the accused. Public prosecutor Sahana Devi argued for the prosecution.
