Kundapur, Feb 28: Kusuma (48), a gram panchayat member of Hemmady, who was grievously injured in the autorickshaw and pickup accident that took place on the highway near Kannadakudru-Muvathumudi, succumbed to injuries.
Kusuma received serious injuries on her waist, back and body and was being treated at hospital at Manipal. She succumbed on February 26. She is survived by husband, son and daughter. Kusuma was the member of second ward of Santhosh Nagara.
On February 25, at around 4 pm accident occurred between an autorickshaw in which Kusuma was travelling along with others with a pickup at Kannadakudru. Driver of autorickshaw Narayana, Kusuma, her husband Chandrashekhar Mendon, Children Chirag and Jahnavi were injured.
A case is registered in Kundapur police station.
