Mangaluru: Court grants conditional bail to asst junior engineer in corruption case

Mangaluru, Feb 28: On February 20, Lokayukta police arrested Roopa, who is working as an assistant junior engineer in Dakshina Kannada zilla panchayat, on the accusation of receiving bribe of Rs 10000 in order to approve the bill of a work and was sent to judicial custody.

The third additional district and sessions court judge justice Basappa Balappa Jakati approved conditional bail to the accused on February 28.

Lawyers Y Vikram Hegde, N Narasimha Hegde and Abdul Nazeer Moodushedde argued for the accused.
