Udupi: Union railway minister directs extra stops for trains for passengers' benefit

Udupi, feb 28: Union Minister of Railways Ashwini Vaishnav, on Tuesday February 28, directed the addition of extra stops for certain trains to improve the convenience of train passengers, taking into consideration their requests.

The Mangaluru Matsyagandha Express train No. 12619/20 will now make a stop at Barkur, benefiting the local hotel business and trade.

The Netravati Express train No. 16345/46 will once again stop at Kundapur, after the stoppage was cancelled during the Covid-19 pandemic.

Yeshwantpur – Vasco Da Gama express train No. 17309/10 will now stop at Kadur railway station.

Additionally, the Yesvantpur – Barmer train No. 14805/06 will stop at Birur railway station, which will benefit businessmen, tourists, and workers arriving from Rajasthan to Chikkamagaluru.

These changes were made by the minister to enhance the convenience of train passengers and provide better transportation options.
