Mangaluru: Special MSME vendors’ meet for SC / ST, women entrepreneurs

Mangaluru, Mar 3: Mangalore Refinery and Petrochemicals Limited (MRPL) held Special MSME Vendors’ Meet for SC / ST and Women Entrepreneurs at Hotel AJ Grand here on March 2.

MRPL officials presented overview of MRPL’s procurement procedure, MSME initiatives and benefits of the Government eMarketplace (GeM) portal.

Devaraj K, deputy director, MSME encouraged the SC / ST and women entrepreneurs to step forward and get into business whenever they sense an opportunity. Mohanagayya Swami, president, DK District SC / ST Industrialist Association shared his experience in developing special category vendors.

Assistant director, MSME elaborated on the benefits available for SC/ST and women entrepreneurs and how to make best use of the opportunity.

Then the dorum was kept open for the Vendors to raise any issue or clarify their doubts about the benefits available. Some interesting points were raised by the vendors which were deliberated and clarified by the MRPL officers. The session ended on a high note as more than 100 vendors took benefits of the meet.

The materials department of MRPL took lead to organise the event under the guidance of T M Pai, GGM – materials and V N S Venkatramana, GGM Projects.
