Mumbai, Jun 17: “The police should have ensured that Maria was medically examined to strengthen their claim that she was sexually involved with Neeraj. Prosecutions claims that she had sexual relationship with the deceased is false. In fact, we challenge the prosecutions claim as Maria is still a virgin,” claims Sharif Shaikh Defence lawyer of Maria Susairaj, Kannada actor who is prime accused in Neeraj Grover murder case .

In A new twist to the trial in the Neeraj Grover murder case, the defence lawyer challenged the prosecution’s claim of it being a passion-driven murder. Sharief says that the court on Wednesday that she was never sexually involved with the victim.

The case which has reached its fag end, is based on the prosecution’s claim that Grover was murdered at Maria’s rented flat in Malad, where co-accused and her fiance Emile Jerome had landed on May 7, 2008 and found Maria and Neeraj in a compromising position. Sharif, who is conducting the customary final arguments, claimed such a contention does not hold any water as no medical test was conducted on Maria to prove that she has been sexually involved with anyone.
