Manava Bandhutva Vedike Udupi unit celebrates Women's Day, honours fisherwomen

Udupi, Mar 9: Manava Bandhutva vedike, Udupi district committee celebrated the Women's Day by honouring the fisherwomen in Kaup fish market. 

Vinay Kumar Sorake, former minister inaugurated the programme. On the occasion, he said, "It has been very difficult to lead life due to the price hike. At this juncture It is a very good initiative of honouring hard working fisherwomen."

Satheesh, journalist and convener of Manava bhandutva vedike Mangaluruu unit gave an introductory talk.

All the fisherwomen were felicitated on the occasion with shawl and fruit plants.

Manava Bhandutva vedike state committee member Ronald Manohar Karkada, Manjit Nagaraj, Mohammad Sheesh, Ashwini, Charles Ambler, President of Kapu Fish Market Association Shanta Suvarna, Secretary Sasikala, Kapu Municipal Members Satish Chandra, Farjana, Shobha Bangera, Kapu Block Congress President Naveen Chandra Suvarna, M A Gafoor, Usman, Farooq Chandranagar, Harish Naik, Deepak Kumar Yermal, Zaheer Ahmed, Sarfuddin Shaikh and others were present.
