Mangaluru: Srinivas Institute of Technology’s ‘Envision 2023’ fest inaugurated

Mangaluru, Mar 28: The two-day national level techno-cultural fest ‘Envision 2023’ organized by Srinivas Institute of technology was inaugurated here on Tuesday March 28.

Addressing the gathering, associate manager talent acquisition Robosoft Technologies Laxmi Shetty said, “I always love to interact with students as we get to learn new things from them. Learning not only comes from books, pens and papers, but most of the learning happens through events like these. In the corporate sector, apart from technical skills, you are personality stands out with communication, confidence and leadership.

“Where do you gain these three skills? It is out of events where you get opportunity to exhibit your talent. You need to start with small, such as volunteering any event where you will develop coordination skills and then start participating. You will know to present your work. Participation will help you to learn, face questions and develop good communication skills. By participating, you will gain skills which you do not get out of books, pens and papers. The advantage of participating is you will get chance to interact and build your network. You never know where they will be in need where you can use their connection,” she said.

Principal and convenor Dr Srinivas Mayya D said, “Envision was started in the year 2010. You all need to know the meaning of envision and where it derived from. We opened it to all college recently by which registration increased by the effort made by the student community who took a lot of initiative. Observe the event where you will learn a lot and that makes the difference in your personality.”

Principal Srinivas College of Pharmacy Dr Ramakrishna Shabrayya, staff coordinator envision Dr Prasad were present.

Coordinator Envision N Shankar welcomed the gathering, President student council Shelton Cuntinha proposed the vote of thanks, and Naaz M N and Richal Mohan compered the event.

The mega techno-cultural events will be organized on both days under different departments and cultural clubs which includes yakshagana, pilinalike, step hopper’s, dance rumble, battle of bands, drone race, line follower robot, hackathon, robo soccer, hack the campus, and RC racing.

The technical events will be organized on both days under different departments. Aeronautical and Automobile Engineering Department Association will be organizing Autonautix which includes Skyhut, Pitstop, Ninja Warrior and Need for Sagacity. Mechanical Engineering and Marine Engineering Department Association will be organising Fogo E Agua which includes Memorizing, Structure Making, and Bulls eye Battle, Shoot at Pinpong. Electronics and Communication Engineering and Electrical and Electronics Engineering Department Association will be organizing Stelite which includes Simuquest, Be the Sloth, Clash of Circuit and DimaagKaBharosa. Information Science and Engineering and Artificial Intelligence & Data Science Department Association will be organizing Bits and Bytes which includes Mind Strom, Plumber Rumble, Smarticus and Equilibro. Computer Science and Engineering Department Association will be organizing Techverse which includes Sherlock Codes, Rahasya, Roadies and Valorant. Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning Department Association will be organizing Tanthrik which includes KaosKodes, Code Quest, PES, Bizquiz, Tactical Triumph and Virtual Reality. Paper presentation is kept open under all the departments.

The cultural events under the cultural club Lalitharanga is being held on March 28-29 which includes kalakuncha (tatoo art, face painting, mehandhi design, pencil sketch, cartoon drawing, water colour painting), gana (solo/duet singing), stand up comedy, just a minute, dumb charades, cooking without fire and Mr/Ms Envision. Chess and arm wrestling are the events under games.
