Mangaluru: SCDCC Bank clocks Rs 61.38 crore profit in fiscal

Mangaluru, Apr 3: “The SCDCC Bank is in the forefront of development and works as a model to the whole nation. It gives unique and latest banking service to urban and rural communities through its 111 branches. This is a proud achievement. It is giving a fruitful service in the cooperative banking sector since 109 years. In the fiscal that ended on March 31 the bank clocked a profit of Rs 61.38 crore, which is 21.57% more compared to last fiscal. This is an all-time record in the history of the SCDCC Bank,” said Dr Rajendra Kumar, president of the bank in a press conference.

Dr Kumar further said, “The SCDCC bank which has modern banking facilities attracts more and more customers. It has made a turnover of Rs 13512 crore in total. This is 16.40% more than last fiscal. For the fiscal 2023-24, the bank has target of Rs 15000 crore turnover.

“The bank, without any deposits of union or state governments, has collected a deposit of Rs 6368.50 crore through its 111 branches. It is leading in deposit collections among all district central cooperative banks in Karnataka. This year the deposit collection is increased by 12.69% compared to last fiscal.

“This fiscal for agricultural development Rs 1681.46 crore is given as short term loan, Rs 150.20 crore as medium term loan. Total loan given to the agriculture sector is Rs 1831.66 crore. Rs 3963.89 crore non-agriculture loan is given. Outstanding of agriculture and non-agricultural loan for the current fiscal is Rs 7143.38 crore. Last fiscal the outstanding was Rs 5956.87 crore. So the present outstanding is 19.92% more than the last fiscal.

“The bank has provided Rupay Kisan cards to farmers who have Mangala Kisan Credit Card in primary agricultural cooperative associations that function in Dakshina Kannada and Udupi districts. Already 132291 Rupay Kisan cards are distributed to the farmers. Other customers of the bank are given 72298 Rupay debit cards.

“The bank has plan of opening 15 new branches in the next fiscal. Already three ATMs are installed in the main branches of three taluks. In the coming fiscal ATMs will be installed in main branches of 13 more taluks.

“The bank has got Apex bank award 20 times, NABARD award 18 times, Frontier in cooperative national banking award two times. Two times the bank has secured prestigious blue ribbon award for the comprehensive achievement,” he said.

Directors of the bank Deviprasad Shetty Belapu, Vinayakumar Soorinje and Gopinath Bhat were present.
