Udupi: 100 bags of paddy without documents seized

Udupi, Apr 6: Rukma Naik, ASI of Manipal police station and personnel confiscated 100 bags of paddy that was being transported without relevant documents near MIT junction on Wednesday.

Rukma Naik and his team were inspecting vehicles at Nedar on Parkala-Udupi NH 169 A on account of upcoming assembly elections, when a truck driver by Daniel Anthony Fernandes approached the spot. On inspection it came to light that the truck was carrying 100 bags of paddy from Haliyala to rice mill at Maruti Pura of Beltangady.

A case in this regard is filed at Manipal police station.
