Beltangady, Apr 29: A girl student, who had come to study for NEET in a private college here, killed herself as she got low score on April 28.

Ume Ujma S (19), resident of Chikkanayakanahalli of Tumakuru district is the girl who took the extreme step.

Ume was studying for NEET in a private college, for getting admitted into medical course, near Kuvettu in the taluk for long term and was residing in the college hostel. On April 28, Ume went out of her room and jumped from the top of the building. It is suspected that Ume must have killed herself due to the low marks she scored in the earlier NEET exam or because of the anxiety of facing the upcoming NEET exam.

A case in this connection is filed in Beltangady police station.
