Udupi, Apr 29: Office bearers of AAP political party resigned en masse raising their voice against the selection process that was followed by the party for the Udupi constituency.

State joint secretary Diwakar Sanil, president of Udupi AAP Dolphy Lewis and organizing secretary Keerti Raj are the ones who tendered their resignation to the party.

In a press conference Diwakar Sanil, state joint secretary of the party, said, “AAP had nominated one person for selecting a candidate for Udupi constituency. As I was also an aspirant for the ticket, I resigned from the post of district president. However, the party gave a ticket to an aspirant from Bengaluru without taking the district committee into confidence.

“I do not mind that I am denied the ticket. But I am unhappy over the process through which the candidate is selected. Now the aspirant has established his own office. So we have decided to desert the party.”

Dolphy Lewis said that they joined AAP believing in the service and ideals of the party but are disillusioned by the way the party treated them.
