Bantwal, Apr 29: The value of democracy will be fulfilled only when the elections are fair, transparent and free from fear, said district panchayat chief executive Dr Kumar.

He was speaking after inaugurating a mass rally of voter’s awareness at B C Road. The programmes are being held under the direction of Sweep so that nobody above the age of 18 years stays away from the process of voting. The rally was held from Kaikamba Polali entrance till B C Road service bus stand.

People in Yakshagana costumes, band and street plays were attractive. Bantwal election officer Abid Gadyal, tahsildar Dayanand, Bantwal taluk panchayat executive Rajanna, BEO Jnanesh, CDPO Gayatri Kambali, Lena Britto, Dombayya Idkidu, Modankap Carmel college principal, teachers, students and various department officials took part in the rally.
