Bantwal, Apr 29: “Financial irregularities worth several crores of rupees occurred in Bantwal during the previous term of the BJP government. The BJP and the then MLA who could not tolerate when the matter was made public in social networks with proof spread the rumours that it was false news. They register cases when we speak about corruption,” alleged Congress vice president of backward classes in the district and head of social media, Padmanabha Samanth.

Speaking in the news conference at B C Road press club, he said there were irregularities on Kadabettu Darbalike road, near Kadabande. “The BJP said that a toilet was built there but there is no toilet there. The break wall constructed with small stones near Kadeshivalaya temple to cheat money is about to collapse. Will it last till monsoon?” He asked.

“They have said that a CC camera was installed during the B C road beautification. But the CC camera is nowhere to be seen. They have said that two toilets were constructed when only one was constructed without door. How was the national highway authority bill worth Rs 1.5 crore paid? There was corruption in Akrama Sakrama. The concrete roads constructed with our tax money were only the approach roads to the houses of BJP activists and leaders. There are such roads at Rai and Vamadapadav. Kukkipady gram panchayat member has 3 acres of Akrama Sakrama land approved in another village. Four acres of land is approved in the name of a dead person,” he alleged.

Congress leader Subhaschandra Shetty Kolnadu urged that the police department should take impartial action towards all during mistakes and not one sided action.

Party leader Manohar Nerambolu was present.
