Mangaluru, May 5: CPI(M) leaders and activists urged the people of Dakshina Kannada to elect a secular party to power in the forthcoming elections and vote out the BJP.

Several party workers of CPI(M) campaigned in the city, urging the people to vote for a secular party.

Speaking to daijiworld.com, CPI(M) executive member Sunil Kumar Bajal said, "We want to defeat the communal, corrupt, and the anti-people BJP government. A secular party should come to power. Our agenda is to defeat BJP’s 40% commission government. We are campaigning for two days, urging people to vote a secular party. People are fed up of this government and voluntarily the citizens are coming with us. The development of the district is possible only if a secular party comes to power."

CPI(M) activists started the campaign from Lady Goschen and later proceeded towards the old port (Bunder), State Bank Bolara, Jeppu Market and Thokkottu.

CPI(M) party workers held massive campaigns urging people to elect a secular party in the entire district.

CPI(M) leaders Imthiyaz, Santhosh and others were present on the occasion.
