Bangalore: Two Guns with Live Cartridges Recovered from Abandoned Bags

Bangalore, Jul 16 (PTI): Police today recovered two single barrel guns with live cartridges from two abandoned bags at a bus stand at Upparpet here.

Police suspect that the bags were left behind by two persons aspiring to join a security agency as it also contained job application forms. The bags with the guns,14 live cartridges and gun licences, which has to be renewed, were found during a check of passengers arriving here as part of the enhanced security drill in the wake of Wednesday's Mumbai serial blasts.

"We suspect that the guns had been left behind by their owners in panic as they had not renewed their gun licence and were perhaps apprehensive that they would be nabbed for carrying guns without proper licence", police said.

As per the job application forms contained in the bag, the duo were from Bihar.
