Bhatkal: Annual Rabita Education Awards Presented to Meritorious Students

Bhatkal, Jul 17: The Annual Rabita Education Award ceremony was held to felicitate toppers from various schools at Anjuman High School Grounds on Saturday July 16.

The programme commenced with the recitation of verses from the Holy Quran.

Toppers from various schools in the taluk and from schools outside Bhatkal including Gulf coutnries who hail from the taluk were honoured.

Speaking on the occasion chief guests Moulana Mehmood Madani said the new generation should not treat education as a money-making tool but obtain education with an intention to help others.

In his presidential address Syed Abdullah Lanka advised parents to impart moral education along with modern education to children. He also requested people to invest their money in establishing industries and factories in Bhatkal to create employment opportunities for local people.

In his keynote address S M Syed Khaleelur Rahman said that we can build a decent society only if we care for our children early in their childhood and provide proper knowledge about good and bad.

Secretary general of Rabita Society S J Syed Hashim presented the annual report highlighting the activities of Rabita Society.

Member of parliament Moulana Mehmood Asad Madani, chairman of Institute of Objective Studies, New Delhi Dr Manzoor Alam and executive member of AIMPLB Moulana Syed Mustafa Rifai Nadvi were the other guests.

Aftab Kola conducted the prize distribution ceremony and announced the names of students.

Aysha Sabah with 97.05% who secured the second rank in Mangalore University in Bachelor of Academic Law.


Usman Hassan Memorial Rolling Shield went to Naunihal Central School Bhatkal for securing 97.50% in SSLC.


Dr Manzoor Alam said that human rights violation and increased terrorist activities are the result of globalization. During an interaction with the audience, Moulana Syed Mustafa Rifai said that knowledge has no bounds and one should keep on learning till one's death. He also advised people to always recite a small supplication ‘Rabbi zidni ilma’ asking Allah to increase their knowledge.

S M Khaleelur Rahman announced an award of Rs 25,000 for Anjuman students who secure above 95% marks in SSLC from next year onwards.

Mohammed Basha Ruknuddin welcomed the audience and introduced the guests.
