25 beggars sent to rehabilitation centre by Mangaluru South police team

Mangaluru, Jun 7: The city South police station formed a special team to have a check on begging activities. The police team conducted operations near Nehru Maidan service bus stand, town hall and railway station.

The drive took place after complaints were received regarding rise in number of beggars on streets of Mangaluru. Women along with children and elderly are seen begging.

As many as 25 beggars were handed over to a rehabilitation centre in Pachanady by the police.
