Mangalore: Lineman Electrocuted Near Bajpe

Mangalore, Jul 19:
Ramesh Kulal (35) of Adyapady while executing his duty at Mescom high tension line in Adyapady near Bajpe here on Monday evening, was electrocuted and thrown away on a rock.
 
Kulal, responding to a complaint of a faulty line ascended an electric pole to repair the line.
 
Electricity flowed through the main wire and he was thrown off on to a rock. He sustained severe head injuries and though he was rushed to a private hospital in city, he could not be saved.
 
Senior Mescom officers visited the spot. Kulal was working as a lineman for the last 11 years and was made permanent employee three years ago. A case has been registered in Bajpe police station.

    Can anybody enlighten the readers if these poor linemen's life is insured by the company? If not insured, MESCOM must insure immediately.
