Madikeri: Beary Sahitya Academy to Organize Literary, Cultural Convention on Jul 24

Madikeri, Jul 20: Karnataka Beary Sahitya Academy will organize a Beary Literary and Cultural Convention at Kaveri Hall, here on Sunday July 24.

The state forest and district-in-charge minister C H Shivashankar will inaugurate the convention here on Sunday at 10.00 am.

Mysore MP A H Vishwanath, Kannada and culture department director Manu Balegar, former MLA K M Ibrahim, Kodagu deputy commissioner S V Prasad, Karnataka Kodava Sahitya Academy president Rani Machayya, and town councillor H M Nanda Kumar, Badriya Jamaat president M E Hanif will be the chief guests on the occasion.

Karnataka Beary Sahitya Academy member B A Shamsuddin will preside over the poets’ session at 12.30 pm on Sunday.

Ibrahim Tannirbavi, A R Mulky, Hussein Katipalla, Rahim B C Road, M E Mohammed Madikeri, Abdulla Madikeri, Ashraf Apollo, and Basheer Kinya will present their poems on the occasion.

Moilanji Melody Makers group will stage Beary ‘Qawwali’ and Star Singers of Padubidri will present Beary folk singing after the poets’ session.

MLA M P Appacchu Ranjan will preside over the concluding ceremony here on Sunday at 2.30 pm.

MLC M C Nanayya and T John, former MLC B A Hasanabba, Kodagu district Kannada Sahitya Parishat president B P Ramesh, G Rajendra, chief editor, city-based Kannada daily ‘Shakti’, will be the chief guests on the occasion.

Beary Media Makers will stage ‘Oppanepaat’, ‘Moilangi Paat’, ‘Kolkali’, and Madikeri Crescent School students will present Beary cultural programmes at 7.00 pm on Sunday, stated the press release issued by the Academy registrar Umarabba.
