Mangalore: Hindu Organizations Demand Annihilation of Drug Mafia

Daijiworld Media Network – Mangalore (SP)

Mangalore, Aug 10: A delegation of Vishwa Hindu Parishad and Bajrang Dal met the city police commissioner on Tuesday August 9, and submitted a memorandum to him, demanding affective measures to subdue the drug mafia. The organizations claim that drug mafia has a firm footing in Dakshina Kannada district, and that unless immediate steps are taken to regulate it, it may cause further miseries in the lives of the citizens.

“A number of students and youngsters from the district have become victims of drugs abuse. The drugs cartel has been destroying the future of the youth by luring them into becoming drug addicts. In a recent incident, a college student, who was enticed into becoming a drug addict, is being treated in a hospital. The son of Congress leader, Ashraf, has a hand in turning her into a drug addict. He and his associates should be arrested, and drug mafia should be snuffed out at any cost,” the organizations have demanded, through the memorandum.

In a statement, leaders of both these organizations said that the police commissioner received the memorandum and assured to take legal action to contain the mafia.

In a separate memorandum, these organizations asked the police commissioner not to give permission for using generator sets during processions, and not to allow derision and mockery of Indian culture by people donning obscene characters in the name of entertainment, during the upcoming Hindu festivals like Srikrishna Janmashtami, Ganesha Chaturdhi, and Navaratri.

Vice president of Vishwa Hindu Parishad, Jagadish Shenava, general secretary, Gopal Kuttar, BJP leader, Srikar Prabhu, Bajrang Dal city convenor, Sharan Punmpwel, district convener, Shivanand Mendon, assistant convenor, Harish Amtady, and others were members of the delegation.

Everyone is saying this is a good move. But i feel dal and VHP dont even qualify for this activity.I mean common guys take care of yourself and handle yourself than thinking about others. This is more in lines of trying to get the congress leader involved.I think its a cheap move.

It's rather interesting to see the saffron brigade suddenly find an aversion to drugs, simply because it will help them indluge in settling petty personal scores with an opposition leader.

incidentally, i didn't know drugs had a religion attached to it. we need to thank the hindutva brigade for letting us know this fact.

Secondly, how about taking a stand against murder and rioting as well? Oh sorry, that would be a problem, won't it - for the same Sharan Pumpwell, who is present in the meeting had a few murder cases against him. Ans not to mention Mr. Shenava who has been accused of inciting rioting in the past! It's a funny world

According to the Human Rights Watch, VHP and its youth wing Bajrang Dal has been accused of acting as "Social Police" and terrorizing the minorities on earlier occasions. Even the United States Department of State's annual report on international religious freedom and World Report by the World Human Rights Watch labeled this organization as a Hindu extremist group.
Hence the police should not allow them to ‘Social Police’ our region instead police should induct more of plain clothed CIDs to track the illegal activities around the school and college premises.

Why VHP and BD takes steps towards ban on gutka(even in it is banned)in the states as a clean and health consiciousness...coz most of the regions rich people hold aracanut plannation, grown commercially well than even essential crops!!
Gutka is easily affordable to students rather than drugs!!..
Let the crops for the well being of human being rather to curse to the generations!!

    Good move of stopping drugs.
Would you please also take initiatives to drive away the worse menace than drugs that is corruption, hatred, violence, vandalism in which you yourselves and your party members are involved.
