Udupi, Sep 11: “We have to be careful about endemics. In coming days we have planned to hold 200 health camps throughout the district,” said Dr Nagabhushana Udupi, district health and family welfare officer.
Udupa was speaking at the free health check-up camp organized for journalists of the district and their family members at IMA Bhavan in the city on Sunday.
Dr P V Bhandary, who presided over the function, said, “Human being should make a deed with any disease. Diet, exercise and right information regarding disease is essential. BP and diabetes have become life partners of people of modern times. IMA has taken care of health of people and has conducted more than 100 programmes and camps.”
Dr Krishnaprasad, medical director of Prasad Netralaya, Dr Ramaprasad of KMC dental department, Dr Eshwari of Manipal community medical section and Mohammed Sharif, convener of silver jubilee committee of journalists’ association spoke on the occasion.
Nazeer Polya, chief secretary of journalists association, Dr Keshav Nayak, secretary of IMA, Dr Jayaprakash Hegde, Dr Anant Shenoy, Manu S B were present.
Dr Shruthi Ballal rendered vote of thanks. Deepashree Nayak compered the event. Diabetes blood check-up, BP check-up, ECG test, eye test, dental test, skin test, ENT check-up were held.
