Udupi, Sep 30: Dr Rajalaxmi, obstetrician and gynaecologist, is unanimously elected as the president of Indian Medical Association (IMA) Udupi-coastal region. She will assume charge on October 8.

Dr Rajalaxmi obtained MBBS degree from KMC medical college of Mangaluru. Later she did her post-graduation in Obstetrics and Gynaecology from Bengaluru Medical Collge. She is serving the society though her Vatsalya Clinic at Santhekatte. In addition, she also gives health tips to commoners and creates awareness in society.

Along with Dr Rajalaxmi, vice president Dr Naveen Ballal, secretary Dr Archana Bhakta, joint secretary Dr Sharatchandra Rao, treasurer Dr Amna Hegde and joint treasurer Dr Praveen Shastri will take charge.
