Mangaluru Oct 5: Two members of gang from Uttar Pradesh who came all the way from Uttar Pradesh via flight were arrested by Railway Protection Force (RPF) personnel at Mangaluru junction after a series of robbery from passengers in train.

They were arrested on October 2 at Mangaluru Junction railway station. The arrested are identified as Abhaya Raj Singh (25) from Mirzapur and Hari Shankar Giri (25) from Rajpura. One more accused managed to escape.

The accused arrived on September 27 by a flight from Uttar Pradesh to Goa. They then boarded a train to Trivandrum. Their first attempt of robbery was at Kayamkulam. From September 28 to 30, they undertook a series of robberies in trains looting passengers. They had robbed passengers at Mangaluru Junction four times while two times in Shiroor and Barkur.

After a close watch of the CCTV footage, the RPF personnel traced the accused. One of the accused used to stand near the train door. The train approaching signals would slow down where the accused would strike robbing anklets and chain from passengers and jump off from the train. The accused used to target their victims when boarding the train and then indulge in the crime.

All antisocial elements from the most unruly state are flocking here as they know they can find public here who are wealthy, and can be soft targets, but too naive and gullible! This victim appears to be a learned dumb, like many others, without any commonsense, to carry so much of gold! BTW; IT CANNOT BE A COINCIDENCE THAT SUDDENLY SO MANY ROBBERS ARE GETTING CAUGHT AFTER THE CHANGE OF POWER IN THE STATE???
