Kundapura, Oct 24: A programme to release the blueprint for the new Nandikeshwara temple and the inauguration of renovation work was held at the temple premises on Tuesday, October 24.

Entrepreneur Dattananda released the blueprint and said that the village will be blessed when ancient temples are renovated and prayers are held in them. “The renovation of Nandikeshwara Temple in government hospital premises is conducive,” he said.

Kundapura Mailareshwara Temple managing committee president K Ramesh who handed over the plan for sculptures to begin the work said that a link between the Mailareshwara Temple and Nandikeshwara Temple was established during the Ashtamangala question. “It is confirmed here during the Swarnarooda question that said 'may the temple be built in the expected period',” he said.

Nandikeshwara Temple managing committee president Dr Nagesh who presided over the programme said that Nandikeshwara Temple has a history of several centuries. “The deity indicates in dreams, messages of anger and joy. There is a good response to the creation of a renovation committee for the stone temple. The temple will be constructed at a cost of Rs 50 lacs within the stipulated period,” he said.

Kundapur Batrahadi Sri Brahmalingeshwara temple founder president Ramakrishna Bijoor, Kundapura taluk public hospital medical officer Dr Robert Rebello and Kundapura Mahakali Temple president Jayananda Kharvi were present.

Renovation committee president Radhakrishna U welcomed and gave a keynote address saying that the temple has a history of more than 400 years. “It was constructed during the 15th century during the rule of the Bidanur king. Four cents of land was sanctioned during the British rule. The hospital doctors and staff constructed a temple 40 years ago. As the hospital developed it was found that it is not right as per Vastu that the foundation of the hospital is at a higher level than that of the temple. As the temple building also had become weak, a Swarnarooda question was held on April 10, 2022. The temple construction will be completed within 90 days,” he said.

Shalita Rao and Roopa rendered the invocation song. Former municipal council member Rajesh Kaveri compered the programme and proposed the vote of thanks.
