Kundapur: Labourer dies due to lightning strike while extracting sand

Kundapur, Nov 25: A lightning strike during the rain and thunderstorm on Saturday November 25 evening here, claimed the life of a worker who was working at Holnadu near Kandlur.

The worker, identified as Deep Chand (38) from Uttar Pradesh, was extracting sand during the lightning strike and lost his life.

Workers from Uttar Pradesh were extracting sand at Holnadu. Deep Chand was struck by lightning. Another worker, who fell into the water at the same location, managed to survive by escaping the fatal danger. Deep Chand's body was shifted to Kundapur mortuary. Police visited the spot and are conducting an investigation. However, it has not been revealed under whom the deceased was working.
