Mangaluru, Dec 21: December 20 was a day of joy and celebration at Rosario High School as the institution hosted its prize distribution day and Christmas celebration. The programme commenced with a prayer song, invoking the almighty's blessings.
Students showcased their talents through various cultural performances, including carols and dances that depicted the birth and teachings of Jesus Christ. Santa Claus was the star attraction, entertaining students with his dance moves and distributing sweets.
The chief guest, Keerthi A, an alumnus and manager of SBI Bejai Branch, graced the occasion with his presence. The event was presided over by the correspondent, Fr Alfred John Pinto.
In his address, Fr Alfred John Pinto emphasized the importance of education and the role of parents and teachers in shaping the future of children.
Keerthi A, a proud alumnus of Rosario School, shared his heartfelt gratitude towards his alma mater. Having studied in the Kannada medium from anganawadi to 10th standard under the care of the Rosary Queen, he attributed his success to the values and experiences gained from his teachers.
"The experience I received from my teachers has brought me to where I am today," he said. "When you leave the portals of Rosario, remember to take with you the values and experiences of your teachers."
Keerthi reminisced about the wise words of his teachers: "If you work hard, you will lead a contented life. If you take it easy, you will suffer later." He encouraged students to stay motivated, despite societal discouragement, and to seize opportunities.
He urged students to take competitive exams, pursue good careers, and return to the school as successful alumni, inspiring others. Keerthi expressed his pride in being part of the school's 150th celebration and wished for the school's continued prosperity.
"I desire that this school should live on forever," he said, concluding his address.
Headmistress Jacintha Moras welcomed the gathering. Assistant headmistress Jeneview D'Souza proposed the vote of thanks the event was compered by Apeksha of standard 10th.
The celebration concluded with a sense of joy, gratitude, and festive cheer.
