Bijainagar, Feb 21: The shocking case of six schoolgirls being blackmailed and sexually exploited in Bijainagar, Beawar district, has triggered massive public outrage, leading to a total shutdown of businesses on Friday. On Thursday night, representatives from various communities formed a 21-member Sarva Samaj Sangharsh Samiti, which called for a Bijainagar bandh.
As a result, all shops remained closed, while protesters marched through the town demanding strict action against the accused. A memorandum is set to be submitted to the authorities, seeking immediate legal intervention. Police have so far arrested nine out of 13 named accused, including a minor. Among those taken into custody on Thursday were Karim Qureshi, Aashiq Mansuri, and Chill Out Café operator Shravan Chaudhary.

The remand period for five previously arrested suspects ends Friday, following which they will be presented before the Ajmer POCSO court. Deputy inspector general of police (Ajmer Range) Omprakash has placed the case under the case officer scheme, appointing a female police inspector to oversee the probe. Officials assured that witnesses will be protected, and a charge sheet will be filed within seven days for a swift trial.
Authorities revealed that a group of youths trapped the victims in fake love affairs, lured them with expensive Chinese mobile phones, and later blackmailed them into submission. The victims were also allegedly coerced into religious activities under threat to their families. Based on complaints from the victims' families, cases have been registered under POCSO, sexual harassment, stalking, forced prostitution, and spreading religious misinformation. As protests continue, public demand for harsh punishment for the accused is growing, with authorities closely monitoring the situation.
