Kundapur: Moodlakatte Institute of Technology celebrates International Women's Day

Kundapur, Mar 13: International Women's Day was celebrated by the Women's Unit at Moodlakatte Institute of technology, Kundapur.

Dr Apeksha Rao, founder and CEO of Atharva Organics, and the HoD and professor of KRAM College was the chief guest for the programme. Addressing the gathering she said, "Instead of listening to our bodies these days, we are confusing them. We are just a speck of dust in the universe. Therefore, it is important to maintain health and live happily for as long as we live. For this, we should follow four principles: good sleep, exercise, diet, and stress management."

Another chief guest, Sumangala Tunga, founder and CEO of Prolake Technologies, spoke and gave inspiring talks on the qualities needed to become an entrepreneur, the challenges faced by women in the industry and how to overcome them. In his presidential address, Dr Melwin D'Souza, vice principal of the college, remembered women achievers and called upon the students to achieve like them.

Farana Imran, a lecturer in the computer science (data science) department, who secured second rank in the M Tech degree examination of Visvesvaraya University, was felicitated as the female achiever of the college. The programme was attended by professor Akshata Nayak, coordinator of the Women's Unit, dean placement Amrutamala, staff and students. Student Afrah compered the program and proposed a vote of thanks.
