Florine Monteiro was that pillar for her family, managing all household responsibilities while caring for her husband, a daily wage worker, and their two sons, who are still in school.
However, life took a cruel turn for Florine. Residing in a small house in Bondel, Mangaluru, her family has been facing immense hardships. She was first diagnosed with breast cancer, which she bravely battled and overcame. But just as she hoped for better days, she was diagnosed with liver cancer.
The cost of her treatment has pushed the family into severe financial distress. Her children are struggling to meet their school expenses, while her husband’s meager earnings barely cover daily necessities. With cancer striking once again, their struggles have only worsened, and they are left with no means to afford the urgent medical care she needs.
Doctors have recommended specialized treatment estimated to cost Rs 10 lac in the coming month. The family, already burdened with medical expenses, is unable to arrange this amount on their own.
