Mumbai, Mar 26: The much-anticipated film Aamar Boss, starring veteran actress Rakhee Gulzar and filmmaker-actor Shiboprosad Mukherjee, is set to release on May 9, 2025. The newly unveiled poster beautifully captures the warmth of a mother-son relationship, with Rakhee playfully pulling Shiboprosad’s ear in a heartfelt moment.
Reflecting on the film, Shiboprosad shared his excitement, stating, "Aamar Boss is an emotionally rich story that explores the deep and intricate bond between a mother and her son. The poster perfectly embodies the playful yet profound connection between them. Rakhee Di even recreated this moment on stage during the International Film Festival of India (IFFI), making it even more special."

Directed by Nandita Roy and Shiboprosad Mukherjee, Aamar Boss has already made waves in the festival circuit. It was selected for the Indian Panorama section at the 55th International Film Festival of India and was also nominated for the UNESCO Gandhi Medal. Additionally, it was featured at the Chennai International Film Festival by the National Film Development Corporation (NFDC).
The film marks Rakhee Gulzar’s return to the silver screen after 22 years. To build anticipation, the makers released the film’s first song, Bawshonto Dekeche Amake, on March 10. The song features an impressive female ensemble cast, including Rakhee, Shruti Das, and Souraseni Maitra, with Kanchan Mallick and Gaurav Chatterjee adding to the film’s charm.
A unique aspect of the song is that it marks the first collaboration between musicians Anupam Roy and Prashmita Paul after their marriage, making it a special addition to the film’s soundtrack.
Filmmakers Shiboprosad and Nandita Roy also shared their admiration for Rakhee’s warmth and dedication on set. "Rakhee Di’s presence during the shoot was a source of immense inspiration. Whether engaging in heartfelt conversations between takes or sharing moments of laughter, she formed a deep bond with the entire cast and crew. On the last day of filming, there were tears on set as she bid farewell, leaving behind cherished memories for all of us," they said.
With its touching narrative, stellar cast, and Rakhee Gulzar’s much-awaited return, Aamar Boss promises to be a cinematic delight when it hits theaters this May.
