Mumbai, Mar 27: Singer-actress Iulia Vantur has paid a heartfelt tribute to the late legendary singer Lata Mangeshkar by lending her voice to the iconic melody "Lag Ja Gale" in the much-anticipated Salman Khan-starrer ‘Sikandar’.
The original song, from the 1964 classic ‘Woh Kaun Thi’, featured legendary actors Manoj Kumar and Sadhana, with music composed by Madan Mohan and lyrics penned by Raja Mehdi Ali Khan. In the recently released trailer of ‘Sikandar’, actress Rashmika Mandanna is seen singing the song, offering a glimpse of Iulia’s mesmerizing rendition.
Expressing her admiration for the song, Iulia shared, "I fell in love with 'Lag Ja Gale' the moment I heard Lata Ji’s divine voice. It touched my soul. My journey into Indian classical music began with the dream of being able to sing this timeless melody. It’s my favorite Hindi song, and I believe it should continue to be cherished by generations to come."

She further revealed how the song holds a deep personal connection, saying, "Whenever I want to unwind, I sing this song, and it takes me into a beautiful trance. It brings peace to my being, and I’m sure many others feel the same. I have spent the last ten years training in music, learning Indian classical vocals out of pure passion—it makes my life happier."
Reflecting on the overwhelming response to her version, Iulia said, "I just sing from my heart, with honesty. ‘Lag Ja Gale’ is truly special, and I am grateful for the love I have received. Many people couldn’t believe it was me who sang it, and that means the world to me."
Iulia has previously delivered stunning renditions of classics like ‘Raat Baki’ and ‘Yai Re’, further cementing her place in the Indian music scene.
