Mumbai, Apr 28: Veteran filmmaker Subhash Ghai has expressed his admiration for actress Rajeshwari Sachdev's outstanding performance in the Marathi film Amaira. Surprised to witness a Punjabi actress excel in a Marathi film, Ghai took to Instagram to shower praise on Rajeshwari, who stars opposite veteran Marathi actor Ajinkya Deo in the film.
Sharing a picture of himself with Rajeshwari, Ghai wrote, "I was so surprised to watch a Punjabi actor #RAJESHWARI SACHDEV performing so brilliantly in MARATHI film against our veteran Marathi star Ajinkya r deo in film #AMAIRA produced by Mukta Arts Ltd to be released on May 16 in cinema halls."
He continued, "All kudos to you, Rajeshwari, for your super acting talent irrespective of any language. Wow, stay blessed always, team AMAIRA."
Directed by Lokesh Gupte, Amaira features an impressive cast, including Sai Godbole, who plays the titular role, along with Pooja Sawant and Atul Parchure. The film is set to hit the theaters on May 16.
In addition to his praise for Rajeshwari, Ghai also shared a throwback picture from April 26, reminiscing about an event in 1984 when he, along with veteran singer Asha Bhosle, was the chief guest at a grand show by former glamour model Samantha Fox. Ghai recalled Fox's desire to work in India as an actor and singer in his films, an emotional moment for the filmmaker.
Earlier, Ghai also honored the iconic film Karz, which is completing 45 years. He posted a picture of actress Neetu Kapoor receiving the trophy on behalf of her late husband, Rishi Kapoor, celebrating the legacy of the film's reincarnation storyline. Karz was later remade in 2008, starring Himesh Reshammiya.
