Bantwal: Theft case cracked in a day; accused caught with stolen gold

Bantwal, May 23: In a swift and successful operation, Bantwal rural police have cracked a theft case reported from Parlabail in Thumbay village within a day and have apprehended the accused along with the stolen gold.

The accused has been identified as Hassan Bava, a resident of Parlabail. Police recovered a 28-gram gold necklace valued at Rs 1.49 lac that was allegedly stolen by him. The incident occurred on May 19 when the accused took advantage of the absence of residents at the house of Abdul Majeed, located on Hamad Haji Road in Parlabail. Hassan Bava is reported to have entered the house during the day by removing tiles from the roof and gained access to a cupboard, from which he stole the gold necklace.

The investigation and operation were carried out under the guidance of Dakshina Kannada superintendent of police Yathish N, additional SP Rajendra, and Bantwal DySP S Vijayaprasad. The operation was led by Bantwal rural police inspector Shivakumar B, with the support of PSIs Manjunath T, Kheerappa Ghatakambale, ASIs Girish and Balakrishna, and head constables Nazeer, Harishchandra, Lokesh, Krishna Naik, and PC Sahadev. Their coordinated effort led to the quick arrest and recovery of the stolen property.
