Daijiworld Media Network – Udupi (SP)

Udupi, Jan 27: A person who was travelling by bus from Bangalore to the town, breathed his last during the journey. He has been identified as Narayan G Nayak (44) residing near Gold Coin Club in Electronics City, Bangalore.

Nayak had booked a sleeper each for him and his wife in a private bus which left Bangalore on Wednesday, for attending wedding of his aunt’s daughter here. His wife, Geeta Nayak, was sleeping in the lower sleeper. After the bus reached Udupi, Geeta tried to wake her husband up, but did not succeed. The bus employees also failed to get any response from Nayak. A physician was then requested to check. He confirmed that the passenger had breathed his last.

It is suspected that Nayak, who had high level of cholesterol, would have died of cardiac arrest. A case was registered in the town police station here, on the basis of a complaint filed by Geeta Nayak.

It is so unfortunate and sad that such unexpected and shocking incidents occur during one's journey and travel. There have been such cases in the past too. That's why it is always recommended that highly cholestrolic and heart patients always be escorted by a co-traveller. Thanks, at least Geeta Nayak was there at the incident occurred. At least she could inform and take immediate steps to claim the body of the diseased. Otherwise one would not imagine the the trauma that would have caused the awaiters at the arrival station.

I recall Fr. Geroge Lobo,SJ, my visiting spiritual director's body was found in the 3 Tier berth hours after the train had arrived at the terminating station.

Heartfelt condolences to Geeta Nayak and all the family members.
