Qatar, Jun 27: Karnataka Sangha Qatar (KSQ) organized Nudinamana, a heartfelt tribute to the legendary Kannada poet Dr H S Venkatesha Murthy (HSV), on June 17 at the Mumbai Hall of the Indian Cultural Centre, Qatar. The event also served as a condolence meet to honor the lives lost in recent tragic incidents the Air India accident in Ahmedabad, the RCB victory celebration stampede in Bangalore, and the Kenya bus accident.
The gathering began with floral tributes to HSV’s portrait, followed by a minute of silence to mourn the departed souls.

























KSQ president Ravi Shetty welcomed the audience with a moving speech. Quoting HSV's poetic lines, he urged everyone to carry forward the humane and noble values that HSV's work stood for. He emphasized life’s unpredictability and the need for compassion and purpose, especially after recent tragedies.
Former KSQ president H K Madhu delivered the Nudinamana address, recounting HSV’s exceptional contributions to Kannada literature. He fondly recalled HSV’s visit to Qatar when he was conferred the Qatar Kannada Samman Award, and shared personal anecdotes reflecting their close association.
The programme featured a special musical tribute, Geetha Namana, where HSV’s songs were rendered by Anil Bhasagi, Jayashree Shridhar, Amith Shetty, cultural secretary Soumya KT, and Navaneeth Shridhar, offering a soulful homage through his lyrical legacy.
General secretary Kumar swamy opened the session, while treasurer Pradeep efficiently anchored the event. Membership coordinator Sridhar Chandra delivered the vote of thanks.
The event was supported wholeheartedly by KSQ MC members, advisors, and volunteers. Notable attendees included advisory chairman Mahesh Gowda, advisors Arun Kumar, H K Madhu, Dr Sanjay Kudari, ICC former president Milan Arun, ICC MC member Sandeep Reddy, Tulukoota president Sandesh Anand, Bunts Qatar president Naveen Shetty, Billawas Qatar president Aparna Sharath, and community leader Asmath Ali, along with representatives from various Karnataka-based associations and KSQ members.
The event was a dignified and moving tribute, celebrating the life of a literary giant while standing in solidarity with those affected by recent tragedies.
