Mumbai, Jul 10: With the winds of change sweeping across the Hindi film industry, Bollywood in 2025 is poised to witness a cinematic resurgence, as a wave of new on-screen pairings promise to captivate audiences with compelling stories, emotional depth, and electrifying chemistry. Be it romance, action, drama, or supernatural twists—this year is all about breaking the mould and embracing novelty.
Among the most awaited pairings is that of Kartik Aaryan and Telugu sensation Sreeleela, who makes her much-talked-about Bollywood debut in Anurag Basu’s romantic drama, initially envisioned as Aashiqui 3. The film has already gained momentum following the teaser’s release earlier this year, setting the tone for a soul-stirring love story slated for a grand Diwali release. Sreeleela, who had shot to national fame with her special number in Pushpa 2, is expected to bring a fresh regional flair to the Hindi film screen.
Sparks are also expected to fly in Param Sundari, a cultural rollercoaster where Sidharth Malhotra plays a lively Punjabi boy opposite Janhvi Kapoor’s spirited character from Kerala. Directed by Tushar Jalota and backed by Dinesh Vijan, the film’s teaser was met with thunderous applause—especially for a nostalgic track sung by Sonu Nigam, which is already making waves online.
Newcomers Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda are set to be launched in Saiyaara, a Mohit Suri-directed love story that weaves together themes of heartbreak, redemption and unspoken emotions. Ahaan, under the YRF banner, steps into the limelight with this passion-laden film, while Aneet, who has previously made her mark in digital ventures, is expected to bring nuance and intensity to the screen.
In a more intense setting, Rajkummar Rao returns with Maalik, an action-political drama with Manushi Chhillar cast opposite him. Set against the backdrop of rural India’s complex power dynamics, the film explores ambition, loyalty, and love amid chaos. Scheduled for a July 11 release, it is expected to be one of the year’s most hard-hitting offerings.
Ajay Devgn, back in his larger-than-life avatar, teams up with Mrunal Thakur for Son of Sardaar 2, a spiritual sequel to the 2012 hit. Shot across vibrant locales like Edinburgh, London, and Chandigarh, the film promises an entertaining mix of action, comedy, and heartfelt storytelling under the direction of Vijay Kumar Arora.
The adrenaline-fueled War 2, part of the celebrated YRF Spy Universe, sees Hrithik Roshan reprise his role as Major Kabir alongside Kiara Advani and Telugu superstar Jr. NTR. Directed by Ayan Mukerji, the film—set to release on August 14—carries buzz of a budding romance between Hrithik and Kiara, adding a layer of emotional complexity to the high-octane thriller.
On the quirky side of cinema, Thama, a horror-comedy from the Dinesh Vijan stable, stars Ayushmann Khurrana and Rashmika Mandanna in a bizarre love tale involving vampires. With Aditya Sarpotdar at the helm and a strong supporting cast including Paresh Rawal and Nawazuddin Siddiqui, this Diwali release blends scares and laughter in equal measure.
Riding on the wave of nostalgia and romantic intensity, Harshvardhan Rane and Sonam Bajwa come together for a romance-action film directed by Milap Zaveri. Harshvardhan, enjoying renewed attention following the re-release of Sanam Teri Kasam, teams up with Sonam who is steadily rising in Bollywood with films like Housefull 5 and Baaghi 4.
In an exciting collaboration, Shahid Kapoor joins hands with Triptii Dimri in a project directed by Vishal Bhardwaj. Though the story remains tightly under wraps, insiders believe it will offer an emotionally rich and performance-heavy experience, banking on the artistic strengths of both actors.
Triptii Dimri, also cast in a raw and intense retelling of Dhadak opposite Siddhant Chaturvedi, dives into a narrative steeped in themes of identity, caste, and rebellion. The film promises to carve a distinct identity from its predecessor, resonating with the youth in a more realistic and grounded manner.
Finally, Baaghi 4 revs up the franchise with a brand-new pairing—Tiger Shroff and Sonam Bajwa. With Tiger continuing his legacy of high-flying action and Sonam stepping into a full-fledged action role for the first time, the film is set to thrill action buffs like never before.
With these fresh combinations ready to storm the screens, 2025 is shaping up to be a year of renewed cinematic vigour, surprising pairings and bold storytelling. The industry appears to be turning a new chapter, one where experimentation, emotion, and engagement go hand-in-hand to deliver unforgettable movie experiences.
