Mumbai, Jul?13: An old episode of Koffee? With?Karan has gone viral once more, capturing veteran actor Jaya?Bachchan warmly lauding her daughter in law Aishwarya?Rai?Bachchan.

When host Karan?Johar asked about Aishwarya, Jaya replied, “She is lovely. I’ve always loved her.” Pressed on whether the former Miss World was the perfect fit for the Bachchan clan, she added, “It’s wonderful that she’s such a big star herself, yet when we’re together she never pushes herself. She quietly takes it all in, knows our friends, and has blended seamlessly into the family.”

Johar’s final query— “Is she the ideal Mrs?Abhishek Bachchan?”—drew an unhesitating “Yes, I think so.”

The resurfaced clip has revived memories of Abhishek?Bachchan’s own 2015 remarks to DNA about the “ma bahu” camaraderie in Bengali. “Ma and Ash gang up on me,” he laughed. “Mom’s Bengali by birth, and Ash picked up the language while working on Chokher?Bali. Whenever they team up, they rattle on in Bengali.”

Fans are also resharing a 2007 Filmfare Awards video—just months before Aishwarya and Abhishek’s wedding—where Jaya accepted her Lifetime Achievement Award and publicly welcomed the bride to be: “Today I’m going to be a mother in law all over again—to a wonderful, lovely girl with great values, dignity and a radiant smile. I welcome you to the family. Love you.”

The viral throwbacks have again underlined the enduring warmth between Jaya?Bachchan and Aishwarya?Rai?Bachchan, a bond that continues to charm Bollywood watchers.
