Anti-drug awareness programme held in Christking PU College, Karkala

Karkala, Aug 13: An awareness programme against drug addiction was held at Christking Pre University College, Karkala.

Muralidhar Naik, sub inspector of Karkala town police station was the resource person for the programme.

Addressing the students, he said, “Attraction is high during adolescence. Therefore, they easily fall prey to vices. If they fall prey to the vice of drug abuse, their lives will be ruined. Students should prioritise maintaining their physical and mental health. Drug abuse destroys mental and physical health. Drugs destroy our lives and cause unrest and anarchy in the society. Criminal activities increase. Children should be vigilant about drugs and if they have information about drug sales and consumption, they should immediately inform the police. They should stay away from bad activities on social media, focus on studies and shape their future well.”

An interaction session was also held on the occasion.

The chairman of the institute's anti-drug committee, principal Lakshmi Narayana Kamath, the committee's lecturer members, Chemistry lecturer Nayana, Physics lecturer Padmanabha Nayak, Primary School headmaster Rudolf Kishore Lobo, and others were present on the dais. Kannada lecturer Umesh Bellippadi compered the programme.
