Dallas, Sep 12: In a shocking incident, a 50-year-old Indian man from Karnataka was gruesomely murdered at a motel in Dallas, United States, following a dispute over a washing machine.

The victim, identified as Chandra Nagamallaiah, was allegedly attacked by his employee, Yordanis Cobos-Martinez (37), on Wednesday. According to reports, the altercation began when Nagamallaiah instructed Cobos-Martinez not to use a broken washing machine. The accused grew angry after Nagamallaiah asked another employee to translate his instructions instead of speaking to him directly.

In a fit of rage, Cobos-Martinez reportedly fetched a machete and stabbed Nagamallaiah multiple times. The victim, bleeding heavily, attempted to escape towards the front office of the motel but was chased down. His wife and 18-year-old son rushed out to intervene but were pushed aside by the attacker.

In a horrifying turn, the accused decapitated Nagamallaiah and kicked his severed head. A disturbing video that has since gone viral shows Cobos-Martinez carrying the victim’s head to a dumpster. Police arrested him moments later, covered in blood and still holding the machete.

The Indian Consulate in Houston expressed shock and grief over the incident. “We are deeply saddened by the brutal killing of Mr. Nagamallaiah. We are in touch with the family and extending all possible assistance. The accused is in Dallas Police custody, and we are closely following up the matter,” the Consulate said in a post on X.

Cobos-Martinez has been charged with capital murder. Reports indicate that he has a prior criminal history in Houston, including arrests for auto theft and assault.
