Moodbidri, Sep 13: Good for Good Charitable Trust marked its first anniversary at Spoorthi Special School, Moodabidri, with the inauguration of a physiotherapy and fitness room dedicated to the school’s special children. Alongside the anniversary programme, Teachers’ Day was also celebrated, adding depth and joy to the occasion.
Ribbon cutting and facilities: The inauguration was led by the children of Spoorthi Special School, assisted by Akshay Suvarna, president of Good for Good Trust. The renovated room has been equipped with specialized therapy devices, exercise machines, soft mats, and colorful wall art to create a bright and safe environment for therapy sessions. To encourage students who actively participate in competitions, the trust also donated four bicycles.

Addressing the gathering, Akshay Suvarna reflected on the milestone and said, "Celebrating our first anniversary with these special children brings us immense satisfaction. The administration and selfless service at Spoorthi Special School inspire us all. Whether it is Spoorthi, our trust, or any social organization with a community-focused vision, the purpose remains the same—nation building through individual transformation.” He highlighted the trust’s journey, its contribution to inclusive education, and its plans for future initiatives to create long-term impact.
The founder of Spoorthi Special School, Prakash, was felicitated and expressed gratitude to Good for Good Trust for its noble contribution. Dignitaries in attendance included Sathyaraj Shettigar, vice president, Good for Good Trust - Sachith Kulal, joint secretary, Good for Good Trust - Amit D’Silva, president, Lions Club Alangaru - Sadashiva Shetty & Yuvaraj Jain, trustees, Vidyavardhak Sangha - Dr Asma, Alva’s Health Centre (homeopathy division) - Latha Suresh, president, parents’ committee, Spoorthi Special School - Sharmila Vas, headmistress, and Spoorthi Special School - Anita Rodrigues, student welfare officer.
The programme was anchored by Praveen Jain.
While the inauguration and anniversary were the main highlights, the programme also included a Teachers’ Day celebration. Special children participated enthusiastically, and parents expressed heartfelt appreciation for the trust’s initiative, recognizing it as a meaningful step toward empowerment and inclusion.
The event stood as a reminder of Good for Good Trust’s mission—to enable individuals, nurture possibilities, and contribute to building a stronger, compassionate society through education and empathy.
