Mumbai, Sep 26: Actor Bobby Deol has voiced his support for Aryan Khan, stating that the star kid has endured hardships that “no child should ever go through.” Deol’s remarks come as former Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) officer Sameer Wankhede filed a defamation suit against Shah Rukh Khan’s Red Chillies Entertainment, Netflix, and the producers of Aryan’s debut web series The Ba**ds of Bollywood*.
During an appearance on the Raj Shamani podcast, Bobby Deol was asked about similarities he shares with Aryan Khan since both hail from prominent Bollywood families. “I guess, I wish I had the same fire he has now. I started off with a lot of fire, but things got delayed for me… Other than that, no, I think he’s very talented. I don’t know if I am that talented. His persona, he attracts you,” Deol said.

When asked about the pressures Aryan faces, Bobby remarked, “Definitely. I’m sure he is. I mean, he has been through a lot more than I have, in many other ways, which no child should ever go through. But that’s the way the world is becoming right now.”
His statement gained traction as Wankhede filed a Rs 2 crore defamation suit in the Delhi High Court on September 25, seeking damages from Shah Rukh Khan’s Red Chillies Entertainment, Netflix, and the show’s producers. Wankhede alleged the series portrayed him in a false and defamatory light and said he intends to donate the damages to Tata Memorial Cancer Hospital.
Aryan Khan was arrested by the NCB on October 3, 2021, along with two others during a raid on a cruise ship. He spent 25 days in jail before being granted bail. In May 2022, all charges against him were dropped, and Wankhede was removed from the case after being accused of blackmail.
