Hyderabad, Dec 2: Telangana chief minister A. Revanth Reddy on Tuesday accused Prime Minister Narendra Modi of using “false and diversionary” money-laundering cases against Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi to shift public focus away from Rahul Gandhi’s recently launched ‘Vote Chori’ campaign.
Speaking at the TPCC State Executive meeting, he condemned what he described as “vendetta politics” by the Centre and asserted that the Congress is prepared to take on the Modi government. He said the National Herald case was being misused to target the Gandhis despite the family’s historic contribution to India’s freedom movement and their role in sustaining the newspaper without any government funding.

Revanth Reddy said the Congress would pass a resolution denouncing the cases and reaffirming its solidarity with the Gandhi family. He urged party leaders to work toward making Rahul Gandhi the country’s next Prime Minister.
The chief minister also announced that major funds will soon be allocated for transforming Osmania University into an institution of international standards. He added that the Telangana Rising 2047 vision document — targeting a USD 3 trillion state economy — will be unveiled at the upcoming Global Summit.
Outlining the state’s development strategy, he explained plans to reorganize Telangana into core urban, peri-urban and rural agricultural economic zones, alongside major infrastructure projects including a dry port, four new airports, the Hyderabad–Bengaluru Greenfield Highway and the proposed bullet train.
Revanth Reddy called on party leaders to ensure government welfare schemes reach every household, highlighting widespread positive feedback on the ongoing Indiramma saree distribution. He directed district Congress presidents to coordinate the delivery of 65 lakh sarees in rural areas by December and another 35 lakh in urban areas by March 2026.
He concluded by stating that the current government is steering Telangana toward development despite inheriting heavy debt from the previous administration.
