Mangaluru, Feb 25: St Agnes CBSE School celebrated International Mother Language Day on Saturday, February 21 at the School Block 1 Hall with great enthusiasm and cultural pride. The programme highlighted the significance of linguistic diversity in preserving cultural identity and promoting inclusive communication.

The celebration began with a prayer service and prayer dance, invoking divine blessings for peace and harmony. The event was smoothly anchored by the student emcees, who highlighted the essence of language as a reflection of culture, identity, and heritage.

The programme was graced by the presence of the chief guest, Shalet, a dedicated Hindi teacher known for her commitment to language education. A warm welcome address set the tone for the day, during which the chief guest was accorded a floral welcome by the vice principal, Sr Meena Fernandes AC, followed by a graceful welcome dance presented by the students of grade 8.

Following the formal inauguration, a special segment of the programme focused on the significance of International Mother Language Day. The speaker emphasised that the day is observed worldwide to promote linguistic and cultural diversity and to preserve mother tongues.
