Sullia: Car driver dies, family injured in high-speed rear-end collision at Bolubailu

Sullia, Feb 24: A man died and his wife and children were injured after their car was struck from behind by a speeding car in a serious accident at Bolubailu on February 21.

The driver, later identified as Kukke Shri Vasanth, was critically injured and succumbed to his injuries on the night of February 23 at a private hospital in Sullia.

The family was travelling from Sullia to Madanthyar when the speeding car rammed into the back of their car.

 

“The impact was so severe that Vasanth was seriously hurt, and his wife and children sustained injuries,” a hospital official said.

All victims were rushed immediately to a local hospital for emergency treatment.

Due to the gravity of his condition, Vasanth was later shifted to a hospital in Mangaluru. On February 23, he was brought back to a private hospital in Sullia, where he passed away that night, leaving the family and community in shock.

Police have registered a case, and investigations are under way to determine the circumstances that led to the high-speed collision.
